Now Hiring for Alexandria, VA Assistants

Sherah is a personal assistant service helping busy parents manage their families and households more easily by completing tasks for them both virtually and in person. We have been serving families in the Richmond, Virginia area since 2022 and will be expanding to Alexandria, Virginia in spring 2024.

 

Currently, we are hiring assistants who live in Alexandria, Virginia, who know the NOVA/DC area well, and who can complete tasks virtually and in person for members who live locally. All assistants work a flexible, part-time schedule as 1099 contractors and are paid once per month based on an hourly rate for their time worked. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Logging into the Sherah assistant portal, selecting available tasks you feel comfortable taking on, and being accountable for taking those tasks through to completion, virtually and in person, while keeping the respective members updated on progress.

  • Communicating with members before/during/after task and ensuring their satisfaction

  • Utilizing the portal to select, accept, complete tasks, log notes and enter hours and receipts of purchase

  • Leveraging the Sherah preferred vendor list 

  • Being present with video on during virtual new member onboarding calls, if you have accepted a request to attend

  • Ideal candidates will be able to stay one step ahead of the member knowing what steps need to get done without having to be asked


Minimum requirements for applicants are:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Have been or are currently the “default parent” for their child/children and family running the household

  • Have excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to keep all members' information confidential

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a multi-tasker

  • Excellent at juggling several tasks/projects at once while getting all the details correct

  • Observant and intuitive, able to study and learn people and their unique preferences quickly

  • Able to successfully meet deadlines and complete projects on time and on budget

  • Excellent writing and speaking skills as you represent Sherah when working with others

  • Resourceful and able to find solutions on your own with less than ideal input and direction 

  • Prides onesful on being accountable and seeing things through to the end

  • Works well with technology, texting, online solutions and have your own cell phone and computer

We will first schedule qualified candidates for a virtual interview. Final candidates will be put through a criminal background check and credit report check. New assistants will also be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to beginnig work.
