Less Stress, More Presence: A Summer Survival Note for Our Sherah Moms

Updated: May 30

Hey, Mama,

Summer is here, and if you’re anything like the rest of us, you're feeling both excited and a little overwhelmed. The kids are home, routines are shifting, and somehow the demands at work haven’t eased up. If you're wondering how you're supposed to juggle it all while staying present with your family and not completely losing your mind, take a deep breath, you're not alone.

This note is just a little reminder from your Sherah village: you don’t have to do it all perfectly. And you don’t have to do it alone.

We know many of you are navigating a full-time workload while also trying to soak in the sweet, fleeting moments of summer with your kids - the popsicles on the porch, the midday dance parties, the late bedtimes that always seem to creep later. It’s a lot. But we also know you’re doing better than you think.

If your house feels a little more chaotic than usual, give yourself permission to loosen the grip. Summer doesn’t need to be a perfectly curated experience. A simple rhythm, rather than a rigid schedule, can make a significant difference. Maybe that means mornings outside, quiet time after lunch, a family walk before dinner. Let the structure support you, not stifle you.

And if the snack situation is driving you up the wall? You’re in good company. This is your friendly reminder to stock the pantry, stock the pool bag, put the kids in charge of their snack bins, and release yourself from the endless grazing requests. Survival Tip: Small systems can be summer sanity savers.

We also want to remind you to use your Sherah support when things start feeling heavy. That task you’ve been meaning to get done? That appointment you keep rescheduling? The errand that’s been on your mental list for weeks? This is why we're here to help lighten your load so you can reclaim time and energy for what matters most.

Don’t underestimate the power of small moments this summer. A quick game of Uno before a Zoom call. Five minutes of reading together. A lunch break picnic on the front lawn. These little pockets of presence add up, and they’re more than enough.

Lastly, we hope you’re carving out space for yourself. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, maybe it’s your morning coffee before the chaos starts, a few pages of a book after bedtime, or an afternoon walk while the kids are occupied. Whatever it looks like, make sure you’re on your to-do list. Another survival tip: Have your partner take the kids out or put them to bed so you can go for a walk alone.

You’ve got this. And we’ve got you.

Here’s to a summer that’s less about perfection and more about being present. Messy. Beautiful. Imperfectly real.

With love,

Your Sherah Team
